Qualifications

General Duty (GD)

• Educational Requirement: Degree from a recognized university. Must have studied Mathematics and Physics up to Class XII.
• Age: 21-25 years (born between 01 Jul 2000 and 30 Jun 2004).

Technical Branch

• Educational Requirement:
  • Engineering degree in fields like Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Electronics, or similar disciplines.
  • Mathematics and Physics mandatory up to Class XII.
• Age: 21-25 years (same as GD).

Age Criteria

Relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of five stages:

1. Stage I: Coast Guard Common Admission Test (CGCAT) – Computer-based test.
2. Stage II: Preliminary Selection Board (PSB) – Cognitive and perception-based tests.
3. Stage III: Final Selection Board (FSB) – Psychological tests, group tasks, and interviews.
4. Stage IV: Medical examination at Base Hospital, New Delhi.
5. Stage V: Induction and training at Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala.

Salary

The pay structure is based on the 7th CPC:
